Our Fundraising Promise
At LEAH, we are dedicated to raising vital funds in a way that is legal, respectful, and transparent. Our fundraising team ensures all donations and partnerships meet strict compliance and risk standards.
How we conduct due diligence
To build meaningful relationships with supporters, we use a range of publicly available sources to understand their interests and capacity to give:
- Geographic and demographic data based on postcode (via trusted third-party specialists)
- Professional profiles from company websites and networking platforms
- Official registers such as Companies House, Charity Commission, Electoral Rolls, Debrett’s, and The Rich List
This targeted approach helps us use charity funds more efficiently and ensures we contact individuals appropriately.
Understanding our supporters
We regularly analyse our database to identify individuals and organisations who have engaged with us before. By understanding their philanthropic interests, we can tailor our communications to areas of our work that matter most to them.
We believe in making appropriate asks – ones that reflect the motivations and values of our donors.
Building strong partnerships
LEAH values the support of:
- Volunteers
- Trusts and Foundations
- Local Councils
- Corporate and community partners
We use ethical profiling to identify others who may wish to join us in long-term, impactful partnerships.
Our Fundraising Principles
We follow the Fundraising Regulator’s key principles:
- Legal
- Open
- Honest
- Respectful
We comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including:
- Proceeds of Crime Act
- GDPR
- Tax and Gift Aid legislation
- Charity Commission guidance
- LEAH’s internal policies
