Charity Walk for Peace
LEAH Deputy Chair Helen Henn accepts a cheque for £1,120 from the organisers of this year’s Charity Walk for Peace.
A special cheque presentation evening for participants of the 2018 Charity Walk for Peace (CWFP) took place at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey last week. The event also celebrated the work of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association (AMEA) who donated money so that CWFP could match-fund all of the monies raised by those who participated in the walk.
Former LEAH Director Kate Brown raised over £500 for LEAH’s tutor training programme when she took part in April’s walk in Royal Windsor Great Park. Her sponsorship money was matched pound for pound by CWFP bringing the total raised to £1,120.
Helen said: “It was a lovely event with many, many charities there as well as LEAH. The AMEA team were extremely hospitable and provided a wonderful meal for all - delicious! I hope we can do next year’s walk even though it is in Milton Keynes!“
